State Highway Administration urges MD drivers to ‘Move Over’

JESSUP, Md. — With traffic expected to increase over the holiday period, motorists are being reminded about the state law that requires them to move over or slow down for an emergency vehicle on the side of the road. Police say it can be a life and death decision All 50 states have adopted a “Move Over” law, but an overwhelming percentage of motorists say they know nothing about it. Maryland State Police and highway officials staged a mock crash to raise awareness on the dangers first responders face.
