Rural Maryland voted for Hogan in greater numbers than past Republicans candidates

In his upset 2014 win, Gov. Larry Hogan carried Maryland's rural counties with more votes than Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump (2016) and Mitt Romney (2012) — and more than former Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich (2010), especially in Southern Maryland.
