Former Maryland football player’s transition to becoming a Coach

Cam Spence, who came to Maryland as one of the highest-rated recruits in the team’s 2017 class, had a collegiate career plagued with injuries, forcing him to retire in 2019. After retirement, Spence spent last season as a signal caller for the Terps defense. Amidst the pandemic, Spence took the opportunity to create a name for himself in the coaching world. He spent the summer training NFL players including Cavon Walker (Steelers), Javon Kinlaw (49ers), Keandre Jones (Bengals) and more.

Big Ten Football is back

Back in August Big Ten presidents and chancellors postponed the football season. September 16th they announced that they voted to unanimously reverse their decision.The Big Ten expects to play 8 regular season games in addition to a championship week. Maryland will kick off their season October 24th at Northwestern.

Maryland Football investigation comes to an end

The University System of Maryland Board of Regents announced their recommendations regarding the state of the Terrapins football team. Head coach DJ Durkin and athletic director Damon Evans will return to their duties at the university. University President Wallace Loh announced he will step down from his presidency at the end of the academic year.

UMD Commission issues report on football program

The Commission appointed by University of Maryland President Wallace Loh to investigate claims of a “toxic culture” in the school’s football program has released its report. The investigation follows the
death last spring of player Jordan McNair. The Commission said the Athletics Department lacked a culture of accountability and failed to provide adequate oversight of the football program. It did not make any recommendations concerning the fates of the football coach or the University’s president. The report now goes to the University System of Maryland’s Board of Regents.
