American Indian Heritage Month kicks off in Salisbury

Governor Hogan recently proclaimed November 2016 as American Indian Heritage Month. Salisbury University hosted its kickoff, the 3rd Annual American Indian Heritage Celebration.

Piscataway Native Americans are taking the initiative and bringing their culture to the state in a mobile outreach program. They were officially recognized in 2012, and are continuing their fight to raise awareness for their people.
