BALTIMORE – Maryland comptroller Peter Franchot, certified public accountants, and other state officials, gathered at the University of Baltimore to discuss tax fraud. They addressed discrepancies in tax refunds, how to better detect fraudulent filing, and how taxpayers can protect themselves against identity theft.
