Annapolis marks stop number one for nationwide public hearings on offshore drilling

ANNAPOLIS, Maryland — Annapolis was the first of many stops for a public hearing on Tuesday about the recent offshore drilling plan proposed by the Trump administration. Opponents and supporters took part in the hearing hosted by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. Testimony focused on the impact expanding offshore drilling would have on the state of Maryland as well as all of the other coastal states with the exception of Florida which the Trump Administration has excluded from the plan. The public hearings will be ongoing until March, with nearly two dozen cities scheduled as stops.
