More individuals in Maryland are now eligible for the COVID vaccine as phase 2B begins

Baltimore, MD- Following president Biden’s announcement that by April 19, 90% of adults will be eligible for the vaccine, Maryland’s current vaccine phase lags behind. Maryland’s Phase 3, which includes all adults over the age of 16, is currently set to begin April 27, eight days behind the federal government’s goal. Maryland reached its highest positivity rate since February 9 today, totaling 5.24%.

HHS initiative aims to prevent new cases of HIV in Maryland and other “trouble spots”

The US Department of Health and Human Services is partnering with local health departments to help diagnose and prevent new cases of HIV. In Maryland there are three “hot spots:” Baltimore City, Prince George’s County, and Montgomery County.
