Baltimore County delegate faces possible reprimand for workplace bullying

The Joint Committee on Legislative Ethics released a report that is recommending a reprimand of Baltimore County Delegate Jay Jalisi for abusive workplace behavior.

Hogan establishes statewide schools investigator general

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan signed an executive order Tuesday forming an Office of Education Accountability, an independently appointed investigator general, to look into allegations of corruption, abuse and other improprieties in the public education systems across the state.

Proposed Annapolis bill would allow victims of abuse to keep property records private

Members of the House Environment and Transportation Committee on Tuesday heard from supporters of a bill expanding protections for victims of rape, human trafficking, or stalking. The proposal would shield property records from abusers. In addition to the House bill there is a similar measure being considered in the Senate in addition to a duplicate bill being backed by Governor Hogan.

A bill that would impose harsher penalties upon those who commit violence in front of children was heard by the House Judiciary Committee, Tuesday. The enhanced penalty would include imprisonment for up to five years.
