Maryland Universities Underestimate Construction Costs, Board of Public Works Says
The Board of Public Works on Wednesday delayed approving additional funding for several new buildings at state universities after initial cost estimates proved too low (see graphic below). Gov. Larry Hogan, Comptroller Peter Franchot and Treasurer Nancy Kopp said they were frustrated by the increases. On Wednesday, they approved one of the requested increases, an additional $6 million for an athletic facility at Salisbury University. Source: Board of Public Works.
