Baltimore Tourism Begins to Rebound After Protests

April and May were tough months for Baltimore tourism, as the industry attempted to recover from the protests surrounding Freddie Gray's death. Hotels struggled to fill rooms, and tax revenue related to tourism fell by almost $1 million from 2014. But the industry appeared to rebound in June and July. Tax revenue saw an almost $2 million spike in June, and though that figure leveled out in July, hotel occupancy showed modest improvement through the rest of the season.
