The recently opened Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington is still dealing with high demand, with no advanced timed passes available until March 2017. However, Maryland has several alternatives. The state has 14 museums dedicated to its rich African-American heritage, five of those in Baltimore City alone.
