In some years the best picture winner has overcome stiff competition to win the Oscar, like in 1982 and 1993. Hovering over each dot displays the name of a movie nominated for best picture and its quality score, calculated from critic and fan reviews from IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Each dot represents one movie that was nominated for best picture in a given year. Green rings indicate the winner for each year. Scores are out of 100.
