Delays in Maryland VA Clinics and Hospitals

There are 14 VA hospitals and clinics in the state of Maryland. The VA Maryland Health Care System operates eight of these clinics and hospitals, while three are operated by the Martinsburg, West Virginia VA Medical Center and three are operated by the Washington, D.C. VA Medical Center. Long wait times have been a controversial issue, especially since the VA scandal last year. The government granted the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs more than $16 billion to decrease wait times last May and The Associated Press conducted an investigation in the aftermath to see if wait times had improved. Data was gathered from 940 VA Clinics and hospitals between Sept. 1, 2014 and Feb. 28, 2015. You can find the full data set here.
