Success of Challenges by MLB Managers During the 2014 Regular Season

This season marked the first time in Major League Baseball history that managers had the ability to challenge calls on the field.

These challenges could end up making a difference in a pivotal playoff game.

The chart below shows the percentage of challenges each manager whose team is in the playoffs won during the regular season.

Washington Nationals manager Matt Williams had the highest successful challenge percentage among National League playoff managers. In the American League, Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter had the lowest percentage of successul challenges.
