In Langley Park, a deadly stretch of road

At least 138 pedestrians were struck by vehicles between 2009 and 2016 on a two-mile stretch of University Boulevard in the low-income community of Langley Park, including eight who were killed, a Capital News Service analysis found. Four of the eight deaths occurred near the intersection of University and Riggs Road.
