Public school enrollment decreases during pandemic

As public schools in Maryland and across the country saw a decline in enrollment due to the COVID-19 pandemic, homeschooling and private school enrollment rates increased as parents grew dissatisfied with virtual instruction and, later on, mask and potential vaccine mandates.

Homeless Americans are missing out on Biden’s COVID-19 test kits

With Biden’s COVID-19 test kits arriving to millions of American homes, an estimated 580,466 homeless people did not qualify because of the lack of stable housing. The Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless fights to “end homelessness in Montgomery County by building a community where everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home.” The Coalition hosts weekly COVID-19 test sites every Tuesday and Friday through their partnership with Montgomery County, which provides hundreds of rapid test kits.
