D.C. community organizes African ceremony to heal violent crime trauma

A local D.C. community group called the ‘Love-More Movement’ organized a special ceremony to help victims of violent crime heal their pain in a world where they face trauma on a daily.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced a community policing initiative to augment D.C.s dwindling police force ahead of the summer.  This comes a day after Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee stepped down after 33 years of service to join the FBI.
