National Archives kicks off new Vietnam War exhibit with helicopter display

The National Archives is preparing to open a new exhibit honoring veterans and memories of the Vietnam War. To kickoff the new exhibition, the museum showcased three helicopters flown during the Vietnam War.

On March 30, 1973 the last U.S. troops left Vietnam and for most of the returning soldiers the return home was anything but welcoming. But for the third year in a row, the Hospice of the Chesapeake sponsored a special “welcome home” for hundreds of Vietnam Vets to provide the welcome back they didn’t get more than four decades ago.
