ANNAPOLIS – The Senate Economic and Environmental Affairs Committee Tuesday gave a unanimous favorable recommendation to Gov. Parris N. Glendening’s prepaid tuition bill.
The measure would allow parents or students to make tuition payments prior to actually entering a public institution of higher education in Maryland. It also creates a board to administer the program. The bill is awaiting debate on the House of Delegates floor, but must win the nod of the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee prior to reaching the full Senate. -30-
