BALTIMORE – The trial pitting Waterkeeper Alliance Inc. against Perdue and a Perdue family poultry farm will be shelved until late November.
Testimony concluded Wednesday morning in the case in which Waterkeeper Alliance charges the Alan and Kristin Hudson poultry operation with polluting nearby waters in violation of the Clean Water Act.
The suit that began in 2009 has been “extremely hard on our family,” Hudson said, during testimony last week.
Both sides will submit post-trial statements by Nov. 14, with responses due by Nov. 21, said Julie DeYoung, a spokeswoman for Perdue Farms.
Closing arguments are tentatively scheduled for Nov. 30, with U.S. District Judge William M. Nickerson’s ruling following sometime after.
