OXON HILL — Pre-school is being called an essential part of a child’s educational development, but many families are unable to afford it. Access to Pre-K education has become a hot-button issue in Maryland. In August, Prince George’s County introduced its “Pre-K Initiative” to improve education for children of low income households, and reduce the county’s achievement gap.
