Thirty-five percent. That’s how much much above minimum wage caregivers for the developmentally disabled are currently paid, but soon that may change. There’s legislation in the State House that would raise the wage in Maryland from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 by 2016, but there’s no guarantee that caregivers’ pay will stay at 35 percent above.
