POPLAR ISLAND — A group of kayakers from the Upstream Alliance completed a 30-day, 500 mile long journey around the Delmarva Peninsula in one month, in an effort to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the Chesapeake Bay. Their next-to-last stop before completing their journey was Poplar Island, the world’s largest habitat restoration project.
