SILVER SPRING – The Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless is on a mission: Operation Homecoming. Their goal is to house all homeless veterans identified in Montgomery County by the end of 2015. On Veteran’s Day, the fifth vet housed under this program was successfully moved into his apartment. The county is one of 71 communities in the United States that is participating in Zero:2016, a national campaign to end homelessness among former military persons by the end of the year.
