SILVER SPRING — Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett hosted his second of three budget forums January 21, giving residents the chance to provide input for the coming year. Approximately 86 percent of the county’s $5 billion budget is set in stone, leaving the remaining 14 percent for Leggett’s discretion. Leggett has until March 15 to submit his budget to the county council. The council must approve the budget by June 1, and the budget will take effect July 1.
