COLUMBIA, Maryland—It’s not every day that you can celebrate a century of birthdays. But that’s what happened recently for Vivian Millie Bailey, a retired teacher and former Second Lieutenant during World War II. Bailey says while things have improved for African Americans since her time in the service there’s still room for improvement.
