Legislative battle is personal for woman who lost family members to suicide

BOWIE, Maryland — Bowie resident Dorothy Paugh made the trip from her home to Annapolis last week to add her voice to a bill that would allow the seizure of weapons and ammunition for individuals with a history of domestic violence or depression. The bill, referred to as “red flag” legislation, is a personal mission for Paugh whose father and middle son both committed suicide. Paugh says her hope is that the bill may save the lives of others.
