COLLEGE PARK, Maryland — When talking about the DMV hip hop scene, some of usual names that pop up are Wale, Goldlink and Logic. But there are so many other artists who are equally, if not more, talented who don’t have the same name recognition or level of fame. And one of them is a former Terp.
Meet O-Slice: a 24-year-old University of Maryland alum from Prince George’s County, who is described by many as one of the most “technically gifted” MCs in the DMV today. She is also known for putting a lot of care and attention into writing her music and creating her live show.
On her social media accounts, she shows just how engaging her live show can be.
O-Slice isn’t boxed into one art form. In addition to writing and recording her own music, O-Slice also writes and directs her own music videos.
A self-described perfectionist, O-Slice is committed to crafting the best music possible. Her library is limited, but the music that we have from her is considered close to perfect by her fans.
However, she does do freestyles on occasion, and they’re always fun to watch.
Who knows how much longer she’ll remain a DMV hidden gem, but we’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
Check out some of O-Slice’s work below.
