Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan issued a stay-at-home order Monday to expand the measures to stop the spread of coronavirus. The executive order, which takes effect at 8 p.m. Monday, will prohibit residents from leaving their homes except to perform essential activities.

However, Hogan urged residents to “use common sense” and said that people are not locked in their homes. Here are some of the things Marylanders can still do:
– Continue to leave their homes to get essential items such as groceries, medicines or cleaning supplies. They can also leave their homes to get supplies for pets, animals and livestock.
– Engage in outdoor activities such as walking or hiking, provided they follow social distancing guidelines and do not gather in groups of more than 10 people.
– Transport family members, friends, pets or livestock to obtain medical services or to ensure their safety.
– Travel to and from educational institutions to obtain meals or materials.
Non-essential businesses remain closed and other previously restricted activities remain restricted.
I have enacted an executive order which institutes a Stay at Home directive. No Marylander should be leaving their home unless it is for an essential job or for an essential reason, such as obtaining food or medicine or seeking urgent medical attention: https://t.co/U4DOZIvsTW pic.twitter.com/jTioU46jRu
