The DMV has seen unseasonably warm weather over the past week. Some temperatures are breaking records.
Monday marked the hottest November day ever recorded at BWI Airport, Dulles Airport and Reagan National Airport, according to the National Weather Service. Day-high temperatures slipped into the high 70s and low 80s around the area.
The new high temperature recorded at Dulles Airport surpassed the record for hottest November day just set in 2020.
Most of Maryland has warmed one to two degrees in the last century, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Over that time, high temperature records have been set at growing rates. Baltimore saw a spike in high temperature records during the 2010s.
Daily November temperatures in Baltimore cap at 57.3 degrees on average, according to the National Weather Service. During the first seven days of this month, the average daily high temperature in the city was 75 degrees.
Over the next few weeks, temperatures in Baltimore and across the state are expected to return to normal levels, according to The Weather Channel. Most days are expected to cap at 50 degrees and below.
