WASHINGTON – Perhaps no Supreme Court decision in recent decades has had the profound impact of last June’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which essentially found that women did not have a federal right to an abortion.
The decision played a key role in the midterm elections earlier this month, generating higher turnout among women voters in many states and handing Republicans some surprise defeats and only a slim majority in the House.
This episode of “Takeover” examines the history of abortion access in the United States, try to get a better sense of abortion on the ground and take a look at the broader implications of the Dobbs decision.
