A real-time crime monitoring center is coming to the nation’s capital

WASHINGTON – D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Metropolitan police chief Pamela Smith announced plans to open a center to monitor camera feeds throughout the D.C. metro area. The Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) will help police respond to crime in the district and track individuals who flee into surrounding jurisdictions. The RTCC is expected to open in February 2024.
