The Maryland Consortium on Coordinated Community Supports — which issued $111 million in grants to address youth mental health in 2024 — issued five grants totaling $1.47 million in Dorchester County:
- Mental Health Association of Maryland received $520,000 for mental health promotion and prevention activities.
- FranklinCovey Client Sales Inc. received $390,000 for workshops to improve family functioning and better support students.
- Parent Encouragement Program received $200,000 to provide a parenting education program for parents and primary caregivers of children ages 5 to 18.
- Community Behavioral Health received $185,000 to deliver substance use disorder services through an after-school program.
- Maple Shade Youth & Family Services Inc. received $170,000 to run an after-school program teaching cognitive behavioral techniques, including education about trauma reactions, relaxation training, cognitive therapy, stress or trauma exposure and social problem-solving.
