The Maryland Consortium on Coordinated Community Supports — which issued $111 million in grants to address youth mental health in 2024 –issued four grants totaling $2.22 million in Worcester County:
- Better Together received $920,000 for family education and support, case management and navigation, support groups, transportation and a summer camp.
- Three Lower Counties Community Services Inc. — part of Chesapeake Health Care — received $620,000 for counseling, suicide prevention, substance use services, support groups, family supports, peer supports and wraparound services delivered through school-based health centers.
- Worcester County Health Department received $465,000 for therapy and family supports.
- Maple Shade Youth & Family Services Inc. received $215,000 for an after-school program teaching cognitive behavioral techniques, including education about reactions to trauma, relaxation training, cognitive therapy, stress or trauma exposure and social problem-solving.
