WASHINGTON – The bronze statue of Confederate General Albert Pike has been put back up in Washington, D.C. Demonstrators protesting the murder of George Floyd pulled it down with ropes and chains and lit it on fire on Juneteenth in 2020. The National Parks service claims the statue tells an important and accurate story of history. Some officials say this decision is offensive to some residents of D.C.
