SILVER SPRING — Traffic congestion has not improved in Montgomery County in the past two years, according to a new report from county transportation officials.
The Mobility Assessment Report created by the Montgomery County Planning Department will be used to make recommendations to the Planning Board on Thursday to find fixes to traffic problems.
The report also measures how much people use alternative modes of transportation, like busing and bicycles.

“Frankly, if there’s one thing for transportation planners in Montgomery County, we are fully employed,” said Eric Graye, the county’s chief functional planner. “I mean, there’s work to be done.”
The report also named the ten worst intersections in the county for congestion.
In its last annual study, the Texas Transportation Institute ranked Washington, D.C., as the most congested city in the country. Average metro area commuters spend more than three days a year in traffic, according to the study.
